Jake Thomas grunted in surprise as a duffel bag flew past his head and into the bushes behind him, "Whoa there," he said, as he walked past the blonde girl, not stopping to talk to her. He let out a long breath as he looked around the room. He's eyes fell on the only other boy in the room, he took another deep breath and walked over towards the boy, "Hey." he said, sticking out his hand, "I'm Jake." he sat down on the bed next to Enoch, "Can I sleep here?" he asked, "Not many kids here, huh." he continued, not waiting for an answer, "I am so ready to pass basic training and start rooming with the other kids my age. I only got here 6 months ago though, so alot of people have been warning me that it'll be harder than anything I've ever been through before." he shrugged his shoulders, "I may have not had as much training as you guys, but I'm no wimp." he raised an eyebrow, "Dude, sorry for talking so much, but the only people I've been with for the past 6 months were little kids, who like screaming their heads off." he apologized.

Enoch merely stood there while the boy spoke, too stunned to do or say anything. While, in truth, he was relieved to see another boy instead of just girls, the fact that the boy had talked nonstop since he walked in the room was none too pleasing to the almost-silent Enoch. Still, he shook the boy's hand and nodded. "Enoch," he said, letting Jake's hand drop almost immediately. "Sleep where you like. I don't mind if it keeps the girls away." He added the last part in hopes that the boy would take it as some sort of friendly joke, though, honestly, he was quite serious.
He felt his hopes diminish when Jake said he had only been there for six moths. If the other boy had only been there a couple moths longer than Enoch himself had, he likely wouldn't be able to tell him anything of any importance. Still, though, it wouldn't hurt to at least try. "I have only been here for just over four moths," he admitted. He had to stop himself from stating the exact number of months, weeks, and days, reminding himself yet again that he was supposed to seem as normal as possible.

Jake grinned, "Dude, you don't like girls?" he shook his head, as if he couldn't believe what Enoch was saying, "I love the ladies." he paused, "They don't always love me though." he shrugged, "That's life, I guess." he smiled again.
"Cool, I guess I'm not the only one here who has no experience at this super hero stuff." he rolled his eyes, "I just figured out how to use my skill 2 months ago. I thought they were gonna come up to me and say, 'Sorry, we were wrong. You don't have a super power, please go home.' That would have been horrible, man. After the way I ran away from home and left my poor parents." he let out a loud sigh, "What about you? What's your story?"

Enoch shrugged. "Girls are more trouble than they are worth," he said, looking in the direction of Natalie, who was currently the only girl in the room, since Tali was gone.
Jake's comment made him grit his teeth. He wished he could prove to everyone just how good he was, but he couldn't. Instead, he had to pretend to be an ignorant little boy, which he wasn't. He started when Jake asked him about his life. Though he had an entire story prepared--the same one he'd used to fool the Door--it always caught him off guard when anyone asked him to tell it. "My parents sent me away from my homeland when I was eight. They thought I would corrupt them, and bring the wrath of the gods. The uncle they sent me to tossed me out on the streets only a month later, and I had lived on my own since. One of the agents here found me a few months ago and brought me here." Honestly, the story was half true, and laced with the bitterness that Enoch felt for his family. The only part that he had changed was his affiliation with the Ukwtakun.

"Wrath of the gods, huh?" Jake shook his head with unbelief, "That's crazy, man. I mean, you are the god." he paused, "So, I guess they kinda did bring the wrath of you down, eh?" he shrugged, "I mean, I don't know anything, but that's how I would feel if I were in your shoes." he looked down at his shoes, "Maybe."
"So, where are all these chicks that you hate?" he asked, looking around the room, "Dude, that blonde there, she hurled her bag at me and I've never even seen her before in my life." he said, pointing at his head and twirling his finger in a circle, "Crazy."

Enoch shrugged, not caring to comment on the subject or even think about it. He decided girls were a safe enough topic, though this boy was starting to annoy him.
"I agree, she is crazy," he said with a satisfied smirk. "I hardly saw the other girl, so I have no opinion on her. However, in my experience, girls are overly emotional and thus worthless." He knew the comment would likely come across as downright cruel, but he didn't care. It was the truth, anyway, at least in his own mind.
He turned toward his bunk and pulled down the two sheets covering the mattress. "We have to be up early; I suggest we get some rest." Without waiting for a reply, he crawled under the sheets and turned on his side so he was facing the wall.

Tali walked back into the training building just before lights out to find two boys talking. She heard one of the boys--the one that had been there before she left--saying something about girls being emotional and worthless, then watched as he climbed into bed and said something else about getting rest. Great, she thought, sighing inwardly. More people that think I'm emotional. Though she knew he hadn't been talking about her--they didn't know each other, after all, and he hadn't been there to see her outburst--she still felt as if she'd been slapped. Despite what Noam had said, she knew Valkyrie and Natalie were at least partially correct. She needed to get her emotions under control, and fast.
She pondered this as she slid under the sheets, shivering a little from the lack of heat in the building. It took her almost an hour to fall asleep, and when she did, she tossed and turned, getting precious little rest.
