Lokai walked up to the door of Dr. Kerr. The man would not be expecting him. Who even knew if he was there? Certain matters needed to be attended to, and they couldn't wait. The tall man knocked on the door a few times and waited for an answer. Where did Enoch come from? Lokai continued to wonder, Why was he so calm? How developed are his skills really? Maybe he's from a military home. That could be it. Calm down, maybe Dr. Kerr will have an idea.
||Feel free to powerplay me and make me come in and sit down if Dr. Kerr is there. If not, just post that so I know to look elsewhere.||

||No point in having him go somewhere else. . .||
Dr. Kerr had been out of his office most of the day, and had only been back for about five minutes when he heard someone knock on his door. "Enter," he called, and was more than a little surprised to see Lokai Dangerfield walk into the room. He didn't bother to hide his surprise. "Lokai," he said, indicating a chair in front of his desk. "Have a seat." Dr. Kerr rested his elbows on his desk and pressed his fingertips in a steeple-like form. "What can I do for you?" He asked, genuinely curious.

"I have a few questions about the trainee named Enoch." Lokai began, taking a seat. "He is far more skilled than anyone of his age should be. He is calm under incredibly harsh circumstances, and has a superiority complex that assumes he knows more than he wants us to know." Lokai continued to explain what had happened, as far as Enoch was concerned, that entire day of training. "What I want to know," Lokai continued, "Is where this kid comes from and whether or not there is a good reason he knows how to act so." Lokai paused, "I don't want to assume the worst, but if need be, I will put him to a test that will prove how much he knows. Only problem with that is that if he really is just a cocky brat who cares for nothing, he may die."

||I'm going to call Dr. Kerr Geoffrey while he's talking to Lokai. It just feels weird to call him Dr. Kerr in this instance.||
Geoffrey listened to Lokai as he spoke, and waited for the other man to finish before saying anything. He cleared his throat. "Well," he said, obviously thinking. "I would rather you didn't kill off any of my students. After all, your job is to teach them, not send them to their deaths." He said this kindly, more as a friend than an authority. Still, he hoped that he made his point.
"As for Enoch's history, it seems he was born and raised in Rwanda with his family. His powers manifested themselves while he was still young, and his family. . . they, well, they thought him possessed or corrupt. So, they sent him off to live with his uncle here in the States, who sent Enoch packing the moment he found out about the boy's powers. After that, Enoch lived on his own for about six years, then one of our agents found him and brought him here."
Geoffrey leaned back and tapped his fingers on the arm of his chair. "I myself have questions about Enoch. The Door is only a machine, and it only tells us simple facts. And, sometimes, that's the least important part." He shook his head as if realizing he'd been on teh verge of rambling, then went on.
"During Enoch's time here, I've noticed this superiority complex of his, as well as the fact that he is extremely sexist. This may have a something to do with the way he was raised for the first half of his life, or the way he wasn't raised for the rest of it." Geoffrey shrugged. "I've been keeping an eye on him, especially since I had the feeling he was holding back on his entrance tests. Most children when they come here have little to no control of their powers, and though he seemed unsure and not extremely skilled, he did have a fair amount of control. The academic tests as well. . ." Geoffrey shook his head again. "As I said, I've been keeping an eye on him, and you should do the same."
"However," he added, "if you feel the need to test him further, feel free. But Lokai," he leaned forward and made sure he had the man's full attention before speaking, "if he or any of the other trainees die, it will be not just your head but mine that will be at risk. And I can assure you that your job will be given to someone else."

"I don't think there is much to worry about in the realm of anyone dying through any training exercise. I've got a few powers to help out in that area." Lokai reminded the man of why he had been given the position at all. "I don't think there is much to worry about on Enoch's part either. I'd stake my job and my life on the fact he is much better than he is letting us see. If I attacked him full out, or maybe even enough to get him angry, he'd show what he's made of. "Knowing, to a small degree, what he's capable of doesn't help much, however. What I want to know is what you want me to do. Do I prove that he is holding back, then we can interrogate him? Or maybe you would prefer I train him and teach every secret we have and every strategy so that he can take the information back to whoever taught him to use his power?" Lokai's tone grew slightly sarcastic. He leaned forward, "He's trouble."

Geoffrey Kerr sighed and shook his head. "If, and I do mean if, Enoch is some sort of spy as you seem to think he is," He said calmly, but with an edge in his voice, "I doubt anything he will learn in basic training will be of use to his. . . superiors." He shook his head again. "Feel free to test him if you see fit. Just. . ." he tapped his fingers on his desk, "just don't hurt him if you can help it. No matter where he's from or what he's capable of, there is still a child in there somewhere."
Geoffrey suddenly realized how sappy and emotional he sounded and he sat up straighter and added, "Now, if that's all. . ." He sighed inwardly. Being a headmaster must be making me go soft.

"Then I propose this. Let us all keep an eye on him for the next weeks of training. If you do not have reason to tell me otherwise, I will test him and call it a final test to see whether or not he is ready to pass. The test will be to actually see what he is capable of. Most people have two abilities and he has only spoken of one. I would like to expose the second if nothing else." Lokai stood, still facing the doctor with his cold, instructor eyes. "You and whoever else is allowed to be there just in case you are needed, but at least after that fight we will know what he is capable of." Lokai began for the door. "If you have no objections, I have a training session to prepare for tomorrow." Lokai smiled smugly next to the door, awaiting permission to exit.
