Skye waved at one of her chums as she skipped down the hall, her books underneath her left arm and a strawberry sucker in her right hand. She stuck the sucker into her mouth so she could open the library door. She had to do a research paper on the Ukwatakan, she rolled her eyes, gI know plenty about that evil organization already,h she thought as she plopped her books onto a table and headed over towards the big bookshelves. Running her finger along the edge of the shelf she looked at the eUf aisle. Finding a thick book labeled eThe history of the Ukwatakanf she pulled it down and took it back to the table she had discarded her stuff on. She sat down in a chair and pulled out her notebook and a pencil. Giving a loud sigh she opened the book and stared sightlessly at the page in front of her.
Why didnft she have any skills? She wondered for the hundredth time that day, she had to parents who were amazing agents when they were younger and now a well respected teacher and handler. Most kids developed their skills by the time they were ten, at the latest thirteen. She shook her head, she was freakinf fifteen for crying out loud, wasnft it high time she got her skills? Didnft whoever it was that gave out skills to mere humans know how humiliating it was to be the only one in a special school who didnft have any? Most people expected her to follow in her parents footsteps and save the world, well, those that didnft think she was a complete failure and should be kicked out of the school anyways.
She gave another loud sigh, earning herself dirty look from a few of the senior agents sitting at a table across from her. She smiled sweetly back at them, pulling the sucker out of her mouth and waving it at them. Accepting the bored look from the older students she turned back to her book and ran her finger over the first few lines of the chapter. gYeah, yeah, yeah,h she muttered, gI know all this crap about the Ukwatakan wanting to take over the freaking world and destroy the Guardians.h She flipped through a few chapters and finally settled on one titled, gThe School.h She read a few pages before she sat the book down and scribbled a few lines in her notebook. She found it fascinating that even though they were the same skilled children as the Guardians trained, they lead a much harder and sad life. She wondered if any of the Ukwatakan children wished they had been born a normal child, or even better, a Guardian. She made a face, she would have hated being a student under the Ukwatakan, they probably would have kicked her out anyways, for not having any skills. She snorted, getting an angry response out of the same agents that had given her the evil eye before.
OoC; So yeah, I didnft have any internet and I wanted to post something, so I made a new character. Uhm, if any of you have a senior agent thatfs not on a mission you could maybe reply? You could actually be anyone, as long as you roleplay with me. Hehehe.

Alani walked down the halls of the main building on campus, her green backpack hanging precariously on her right shoulder, threatening to fall off any second. She was headed to the library to study--it was far better than her dorm room, as her roommate always had the tv or music blaring.
When she finally arrived at the library, Alani winced at the amount of emotion buzzing in the room. That was something she wondered if she would ever get used to. Every time she walked into a room with a lot of people--particularly if those people were experiencing strong emotions at that point in time--Alani felt like she might explode from the warring emotions around and within her. She had to force herself to calm, aware that as she did so others may or may not experience as sudden change in emotion as well. She hadn't exactly discovered yet how she was supposed to control that.
She searched the library for a free table and, finding none, eventually sat down across from a girl that looked fourteen or fifteen but wore a trainee uniform. I wonder if she's new, thought Alani.
"Hi," she whispered. "My name's Alani. What's yours?"
||Sorry. It's after 12:30 am. . . that's all I have to say. . .||

Skye glanced at the girl sitting across from her, "Hey. I'm Skye." she whispered back, "You here to study?" she asked, noting the bulging backpack, "I suggest that you try not to annoy those senior agents. They've been giving me major death glares." she rolled her eyes and stifled a laugh.
"Anyways, 'sup, how come you're not going through basic training?" she asked, glancing at the trainee uniform, "And before you ask me why I'm not, I'll tell you. I don't have any skills." she shrugged her shoulders, "And before you ask me why I'm here, I'll tell you that too. My parents work here." she raised her eyebrows at the girl before her. "Your turn."

Alani was amazed by the fact that Skye didn't seem to be staring at her scar at all. That's weird. She shrugged the thought off. It didn't matter, anyway.
"Yeah, homework," she whispered, then grimaced. "Plus I have a math test tomorrow." Alani grinned at the comment about the Senior Agents. "Okay, I'll do my best."
The question took her by surprise, since people usually thought she was much younger than she actually was. "I won't be old enough for basic training for another half a year, actually." She would have asked the same of Skye, had she not explained. The girl definitely didn't look twelve. "So, how old are you?" She asked cautiously, concentrating to help Skye feel calm. She didn't have that much control over her powers yet, but she knew enough to project a mild amount of feelings onto people. And, as stressed as Skye was, it seemed worth the effort.

Shou dropped his books on top of Skye's "You might try being a bit more quiet in the library, eh?" he muttered, pulling a chair out and sitting next to her. He leaned back on his chair and gave Alani a cold look, "Who's this?" he asked, raising his eyebrows slightly at the sight of the scar marking the younger girl.
"Anyways, Skye, I got the papers you'll need to finish up your science experiment. You're such a lazy arse." he smirked at her and plopped his feet on top of the desk, "So, speak up, little girl."
OoC; Kinda random. I wanted to make a chara with Ryosuke and this roleplay needed some action. lol

Skye shoved Shou's feet off of the table, "You should be the one hushing up, Shou." she said, glancing around the room, "Those senior agents over there are fierce." she whispered. "This is Alani, she's a trainee and we're studying together." she said, giving Shou a smug look, "You can study with us if you promise to behave."
"Oh, thanks for that. I'll have to finish that up after I finish looking up some stuff for my history report." she pushed Shou's books aside, "Did you finish your report on the Utwakwan already?" she asked, looking at her friend hopefully.
"Alani, maybe we can eat supper together tonight. I have to run some laps later on this evening after it cools down. Thank goodness the senior agents have a track meet this afternoon and the trainees are using the other track for basic training or I would have been running during the hottest part of the day."

Alani watched, mesmerized, as Shou walked in. He had a strange feeling to him, but it was one she couldn't quite place. In one way, he frightened her, but in another he seemed safe enough. She could feel his eyes on her scar, and it bothered her for some strange reason. She felt so utterly exposed under his intense stare, and had to resist her impulse to turn away in shame.
"So, speak up, little girl." Shou said, and Alani felt her stomach flip-flop nervously. He seemed strangely authoritative for someone so near her age. How old was he, anyway? She allowed Skye to do the talking for her, which was particularly helpful since she realized that her voice was caught in her throat. What is wrong with me? Alani wondered, and sat on her hands to hide their nervous trembling. He's just a dumb boy, not. . . not anyone important. Still, though, she felt extremely intimidated by him.
She was grateful when Alani changed the subject and began talking about reports. Her question about supper caught Alani off guard, and she jumped a little, surprised. "Um. . . yes, sure." She offered a timid smile and worked very hard at not looking at Shou. "Sounds good. W-why do you have to run?"
||I'm toying with the idea of Alani having a crush on Shou. What do you think?||

Skye shrugged her shoulders, "Some friends and I just planted a few whoopee cushions in the staff lounge last week. I wasn't the only one, but I got caught because my parents were certain that I had something to do with it." she rolled her eyes and gave Shou a dirty look, "He didn't help me out of it at all. When I was getting questioned with the others he was all, "Yeah, Skye, why weren't you at supper last night with the rest of us?" Rude, huh."
"But in the end, Shou's a pretty cool guy. I think." Skye raised an eyebrow at Shou, "Right?"
OoC; Sounds fine with me. =)

Shou smirked, "It's true fact that you weren't at supper with the rest of the students, Skye. I was just telling the truth." he ducked a swing from Skye's arm, "The only lie I told was when I said that I was eating my supper in the cafeteria during that time. And no need to boost my ego, Skye. It's high enough already."
"Anyways," Shou turned his glance to somewhere behind Alani's left ear, "Don't freak out when you see our group. You may have heard (of) us, we're the cause of the dull roar during meals. 'Specially her." he jabbed a finger in Skye's direction, "But she's okay."
"How old are you, Alana? Looks like you're doing advanced class work there."
OoC; He said her name wrong on purpose. lol

Alani couldn't help but grin as Skye told of her offense, and the events following. "At least you didn't get stuck cleaning bathrooms," she offered quietly.
When Shou began to speak, Alani noticed his gaze near the left side of her face, and felt her cheeks blush red. If he was trying to pretend he didn't notice the scar marring her face, he was doing a terrible job. His question about her age, and the comment that followed, only made her turn a deeper shade of red.
She forced herself to calm down for fear that soon the entire room would be on edge. She closed her eyes for the briefest of moments, and sent out a calm feeling to everyone as she herself relaxed. "I'm twelve," she said quietly, and risked a glance upward so she could study his face. "And my name is Alani." She paused for a brief moment before daring to ask, "How old are you?"
She was intentionally avoiding his comment about her classwork, not wanting to address the issue of her having flown through the entrance exams for the written work. She was a smart girl, and she knew it, but she hated for other people to realize that. And, anyway, her powers were vastly underdeveloped since she hadn't been with the Guardians for a very long amount of time. Somehow, it seemed natural that she should be ahead in other ways, as if to somehow make up for it.
||Still not sure. . . I guess we'll see.
Dude, Skye looks really old. XD||

Shou nodded absently, gYeah, Alani.h He muttered, still looking past the younger girlfs left ear, gIfm fifteen years old, same as Skye here, except shefs lived here her whole life and Ifve only been here for 2 years.h He turned his gaze towards Alani, gBasic training was one hell of a time for me. It was kind of weird though, because my body would respond and move in ways I never knew it could. It was like I had superhuman reflexes or something.h He smirked, gI guess that just shows how talented and amazing I am.h
His expression darkened as a senior agent approached their table, gWhat do you want? Canft you see that wefre busy talking here.h he snapped, knowing full well that he could get in big trouble for talking to a senior agent like that. It wasnft that he was a trouble maker, it was just that sometimes his temper got the better of him and made him say things he usually wouldnft say.
The senior agent gave Shou a dirty look, gListen, this is the library, in case you hadnft noticed. Itfs a place of quietness where students study and do their homework. If you want to talk go to the rec room or something.h He lectured, pointing a finger at each of the younger students in turn. gThat wasnft the real reason I came here though,h he paused, regaining his composure, gMiss Jones wants to see you two about something youfve been accused of doing,h he pointed at Skye and Shou, gSomething about superglue inside a senior agentfs shoe, I believe.h He glared at the two suspects, gSo hurry along and give the people who are actually studying here some peace and quiet.h He ordered, turning on his heel and stalking out of the library.
Shou rolled his eyes at the retreating figure and stretched lazily, gSkye, did you superglue someonefs shoes?h he asked, yawning loudly, gI know that I didnft.h he looked up at the ceiling, gAll I did was watch the hall to make sure no one was coming, but I donft think we need to fill Miss Jones in on the gory details. Unless you want to tell her that you were the one that actually did the gluing.h
OoC; I dunno any good actresses and stuff.

Skye glared at Shou, gIf you tattle on me, I promise youfll be the next victim. Besides, we took turns gluing the shoes.h She huffed at her friend, gI can get you into big trouble too if I were a cold hearted man like you.h She threatened, shaking her fist at him, gDonft forget who my parents are.h This was a favorite threat of hers, but in truth, she had a long history of pulling pranks and getting in trouble for them, her parents would probably punish her way more than any of the others.
gYoufd think theyfd install a better surveillance system if they want us to stop pulling pranks and doing things that wefd get in trouble for. I mean, the people practically beg us to do something to them and therefs no one there to stop us. Wefre just little kids who donft know any better.h She sniffed her nose and wiped her eyes dramatically, gRight?h
She stood slowly, shuffling her papers together and stacking the books neatly, gAlani, sorry about this, didnft think wefd get caught so soon. Ifm sure this wonft take long, so if you want to meet us in the mess hall in about an hour that would be totally cool.h She said, smiling at the younger girl, gOnly if you want to though, I donft want to freak you out with my pushiness or anything.h
OoC; Something to get us moving and something more interesting. Miss Jones can be the NPC.
