Demetrio walked into the library, his gait placid as ever. He looked around the facility and smiled to himself, nodding to the librarian who knew him well. He was, in simple terms, a bookworm. He spent all of his free time here, sometimes completely skipping lunch in favor of a book that he couldn't stand the thought of setting down. Also, since this was a relatively untrafficked area of the campus he preferred it for homework and studying, above and the normal reasons.
He walked down the middle of the two separate rows of bookshelves towards the reading tables at the far end. The building was huge and old, the architecture as familiar to him as was the spine of his textbooks. He set his bag down in a chair and shuffled through it until he pulled out his binder. He had a huge homework load today and he knew he didn’t have time for breakfast. These essays and the public speaking course he was in were breaking his back.
||I really only provided basic information about the building, feel free to elaborate.||

Elijah was on his way to the cafeteria to eat breakfast when he suddenly remembered that he needed to find some books for his report on the ancient Aztecs. He turned around and headed back toward the library, figuring it would be better to get the books now than have to remember to do it later. And, while he was at it, he'd probably work on the German essay he had yet to finish. He ran his fingers through his hair, shaking his head. After he'd finished running and cleaning toilets, he'd stayed up half the night working on the assignments he had due the next day. The German essay had been the most difficult, and he'd finally given up and gone to bed around 2 a.m. Consequently, he still had more than half of the essay left to write, and German class was first period.
He walked into the library and walked to one of the computers. After searching for books on ancient Aztecs and writing down the corresponding numbers, he walked around, trying to find them. After a while, he became slightly aggravated. It wasn't like he didn't know how to look for a book in a library, but for some reason, he could only find one of the books. He peeked his head out from the row of books, looking for a friendly face, or any face at all. The library was practically deserted, but he saw a younger boy sitting at a nearby table, so he walked over to him and sat down in the chair beside him.
"Hey," he said. "So, this probably sounds stupid, but I need help finding a couple books and you're the first person I saw. Do you think you could help me out?" He paused before adding, "I'll return the favor however I can."
||I hope that'll do. I was having a mite of trouble thinking of how to bump into him.||

He was a bit surprised by the intrusion, as he had been fully absorbed in writing an essay. Demetrio looked up and blinked slowly at the boy in front of him. Elijah was his name, he remembered that much. He'd seen him around at times, though since they ranked differently the only reason he'd actually retained the name was because he rarely forgot them once he knew them.
"Yes, I can 'elp you," he nodded with a thick Spanish drawl, moving to stand up. "What was it you were looking for? I know this library like the back of my hand, it shouldn't be too hard."
||Works for me, lol.||

Elijah smiled a little. "Thanks, man." He handed Demitrio the paper he'd used to write down the names of the books, along with their corresponding numbers. "Just the last two. I found the first one. . ." He indicated the book in his arms, trying not to feel like an idiot for having to ask a kid a rank below him for help. It wasn't as if it was rocket science, either. Probably the dumbest person on the planet could find a book in a library, but he couldn't. He ran his hand through his hair again, a sign that he was stressed.
||Ugh, gosh. . . sorry. I'm just so tired right now. DX||

||Since Demetrio doesn't really exist anymore, I'm going to pretend Eli's no longer here and also lock this thread.||
