Lokai stood there above the trainees at the edge of the pool. He held his hands behind his back, resisting the urge to help. Tali began to sputter water out of her mouth, he glanced at her eyes to see she had suffered little or no brain injury, at least nothing apparent.
Lokai smiled as Enoch jumped in the pool to bring Natalie out. Now, they are working together. He saw Tali try to sit up and fall to her back once again. A quick thought of worry washed over him. He knelt beside the girl and opened her eyes, checking her pupils for dilation. She seemed OK.
He glanced up again to see Tali was safe with the help of the two boys. Enoch seemed calm enough for such a stressful situation. None of the others held together so well. Thoughts began to cross his mind, questions about what happened to this boy to cause him not only to excel and see himself as a superior being, but to also have a certain calmness no other had. It didn't seem to Lokai that the boy was nonchalant, he just refused the stress in his body a position to rise. Maybe Dr. Kerr would know something of the boys past.
Lokai stood, "Enoch, Kyle, take Tali to the infirmary. Make sure she is OK. After that, spend the rest of the day as you wish, but contemplate what has happened here. That goes for all of you. You may yet have the makings of a team." Lokai turned to the door, offering no means of assistance. He stopped and turned back around a moment. "Hope you all enjoyed your first day of training. I took it easy so you wouldn't be too scared. I look forward to seeing you at 5am tomorrow at the obstacle course for morning pt." The man left.
